Getting Comfortable in the Mom Cave

It seems as if I spend more time cleaning and organizing the Mom Cave, then be creative. Recently, I have spent many an hour trying to get comfortable in my own little Happy Place. I bought a storage unit and didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I knew it would eventually work for me.Everything always seems to be scattered, so I've been trying to get everything grouped together. This particular storage unit worked perfectly for my Sizzix products. There are two ribbon rods on the side. Though that doesn't pertain to Sizzix, it is nice to have ribbon out where I can see it. I also added a Stampin Up vinyl item and it really added to the comfort level.

The next task was to get rid of some over-sized furniture. The first piece to go was the unit I used for paper storage. I was nervous, because finding the perfect storage is always an issue for me. I can never find exactly what I'm looking for. Another piece of furniture that didn't have a purpose was a Keepsake Chest left over from my days as a Once Upon a Family rep. I became a rep just to get the chest at a discounted price. Well, after years of sitting empty, I found the hanging folders fit perfectly inside the chest! Now, not only do I have paper storage, I have pretty storage!

And last but not least, I moved my Grandmother's furniture into the Mom Cave. I decided to use the dressing table as a desk and the dresser makes for perfect storage. The desk/dressing table is one of the items which Grandma had painted many times through the years. I had it professionally stripped, but I finished it. Next, I have to tackle the mirror, but that's a project for another day.

I am still looking for the perfect marker storage. I also need to find a place & purpose for two printer trays. I'll just have to keep working on those quests.

I've Been Getting Inky

Hello! I've been busy getting inky and I didn't stop to take pictures. That's just wrong! I have updated the gallery and here's a few peeks at some of the new cards I've made.

The Ribbon Ring

I found a few of these in my craft room! The Ribbon Ring is perfect for holding ribbon that "extra." I have a whole box of ribbon which is no longer on the spool and I'm going to add ribbon to these and find a place to hang them up!

Ribbon, Ribbon, Riboon

It's a new year and that always brings me the feeling to clean the Mom Cave. I purchased a couple of new storage units and they have caused me great brain fog! I have moving stuff around, reorganizing and mostly dismantling! Today, I am determined to deal with the mass that is recognized as my Ribbon Collection. Yes, I'm a collector of ribbon. It's too pretty to use. I'm afraid if I use it, I may not be able to replace it. I have to get a grip on this, before my family calls in Hoarders or Buried Alive.

2013 and New Storage

I have new storage! Now, what to use it for. One unit is too tall for the original plan, so I had to move it and fill it. I never thought I'd have an issue with finding crafting supplies to fill storage. That seems like an oxymoron.

I used one of the units for Sizzix storage. My Sizzix machines and dies have been stored at the opposite end of my crafting table; I used the machine on one end of the table, yet the supplies were at the other. I found my BigKick fits on the shelf of the storage unit, so I moved everything into one rolling cart! It fits perfectly under my crafting table, so I can just wheel it out when I need it. This also freed up the storage shelves on the end of my crafting table. Now, I think I'll see what items can go from the wall to the table.
