Presents For Me?

My sister-in-law-to-be is just too sweet! I offered to make thank you cards for her & my little brother for their wedding shower, and she thanked me with a beautiful flower arrangement! How sweet! I got a gift for giving a gift! That makes me smile!

Bingo Anyone?

For our family Christmas party, I was put in charge of games. We tried to steer the kids away from the video games, but in the end, the video games won. I made twenty-four Bingo cards and coordinating Bingo chips. I used the design from the Stampin Up Holiday Mini, with just a few minor changes. We used miscellaneous green, red & white buttons for markers.

A Card for Baby Cam

As usual, the night before I had to attend a baby shower, I realized I didn't have a card. I ran to the Mom Cave and tried to find some inspiration. I then realized, I have very little stamps for baby cards. I dug around in the box of retired goodies, and I found my inspiration! After picking out some good baby New colors, I dug out the Sizzix and the Cuttlebug folders and found yet more inspiration. The card still needed a littls something, so I broke down and finally used my stash of buttons. And for a finishing touch, I added some Stickles to the sail.

Stamps: Nursery Necessities
Ink: Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery
Card Stock: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White
Embellishments: SU buttons and thread, Stickles, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Sizzix BickKick

Happy, Happy Thank You Cards

My baby brother is getting married this spring, and I I offered to make thank-you cards. His bride-to-be likes bright, fun colors and together, we came up with this great card. I started by stamping the umbrella image in three separate colors, Rick Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo.

The next step was to cut out each piece and make sure I had enough of each "side" piece. I started off by stamping full images, and then realized it would be much easier to just stamp the "side" I need.

Next, I glued all three umbrella pieces to together, and finished up by stamping the umbrella handle. I used an extra "center" piece as a masking tool.

And here's what it looked like somewhere in the middle of the assembly line!

Tah-dah! They are all done! All 100 thank you cards!

Stamps: SU Thank You Kindly, PTI Scattered Showers
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Basic Black
Card stock: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Rick Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Embellishments: SU Scalloped Border Punch, Misc ribbon

This was one of the original prototypes. In the end, I think the yellow base really made this card pop!

Get Well Soon

This card makes me smile. My inspirations came from this card on Splitcoaststampers.com. I changed a few things, but I was very inspired by Robin Lee's design. I really like the sentiment she used, but I already used that on a different card, and both cards will be a gift. Yes, this is another card made in multiples. Twenty eight to be exact! Thank goodness it was fun to make!

Stamps: SU Button, Button, Word Play

Paper: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede

Ink: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip

Pastel Thank You

I have to admit, this is a card that did not end up like the idea I had in my head. I hate when that happens! I wanted to add a thank you card to the shower gifts, and I became very stuck, and this is what evolved from the original idea. I made 30 of these cards. It is nice to be able to use up some retired card stock. Though Stampin' Up may not make it anymore, it doesn't mean it's not good paper. At least that's my opinion!

Stamps: SU Printed Petals, Thank You Kindly

Paper: SU Whisper White, Barely Banana (retired), Green Gable (retired), DSP Print Pack (retired)

Ink: Pretty In Pink, Perfect Plum

Lighthouses & Birthdays

More cards made in multiples. I'm trying to design a variety of themes for the shower gifts. I tried to think of they type of card I never seem to have handy, and the first thing that came to mind was a "guy" birthday card. I have a difficult time designing masculine cards. Probably because I don't have many "man" stamps. I purchased this lighthouse stamp from a stamp company from Sunnyside Stamps in St. Clair, Michigan. They have an amazing selection of stamps, especially Michigan Lighthouses. And the customer service is fantastic! This image is the Crisp Point Light in Lake Superior.

Stamps: Sunnyside Stamps

Ink: Momento Brown

Here's another birthday card in pink! This card was fun to make. It's another card for the shower gifts. If you have a manly card, you have to have a girly card, right? I was hoping for more of a "quilt" in the center of the card, but I think it's just a Four Square.

Stamps: SU So Many Scallops (retired),

Paper: SU Pretty In Pink, Rose Red, Whisper White,Close to Cocoa (retired)
SU DSP (Retired)
New Post
Ink: Rose Red

Markers: Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Yoyo Yellow (retired)

The Secret to Life....

I've been busy making cards for a family wedding shower. These are going to be gifts for the guests. I made 30 of these cards, and I'm finding I really like white base cards! I also found a new favorite color combination: Baja Breeze & Elegant Eggplant or Concord Crush! Love it!

Stamps: SU Friendship Flowers (retired)

Paper: SU Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Elegant Eggplant
SU DSP Prints: Rose Red, Certainly Celery, More Mustard

Ink: Elegant Eggplant

Baby Shower Invites Gone Crazy!

I offered to make shower invites for a friend, thinking I would have to make 40-50 cards. I was surprised they actually needed 115! This was the final design the Baby Momma agreed on. I was quite overwhelmed with number of invites, so I had to incorporate the help of some friends! Thanks to everyone who helped make these cards possible!

Paper: SU Whisper White, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst (retired), misc pink and lavender

Ink: Basic Black, Lovely Lilac (retired)

Single Card Making Mania

Yay! Another single card! It seems so rare to make only one card. I've lost count of the 20+ cards I've made in the last couple of months. I have to figure out my Ott light, because this card is actually made on Stampin' Up Whisper White! It was a simple card and I am quite pleased with it.

Stamps: Stampin Up- I {heart} Hearts

A Card for Jimmy

Yay for me! I made a single card! Yes, this is exciting, because I have spent the last five months making mass produced cards for the holidays and family gatherings. I made this card for Jimmy Buffett. He got all bruised up in Australia, and I wanted to send him a get well card.

This card was SO much fun to make! I don't usually make labor intensive cards, so this was a treat. Really, it was. Everything came together well, and I had fun playing with bright such bright colors!
